'Modern Family' Episode 6 Spoilers: Halloween Special 'AwesomeLand'
This week's episode of Modern Family is coming out just a few days before Halloween and the episode will be keeping in theme with the holiday. The show's characters will be putting on costumes and celebrating Halloween while providing major laughs along the way.
Claire Dunphy has always been the one to go all out when it comes to celebrating Halloween, but this year things will be different. Her husband, Phil Dunphy, will be taking over the celebrations this year and in contrast with the usual spooky Halloween theme, the ever-cheerful and optimistic Phil is pushing for a different concept. Phil will insist on creating a fantasy fun-filled home that they will call "AwesomeLand."
While Phil wants to keep things cheerful, photos released by ABC Medianet show that things might have turned towards the spook direction as the Dunphy home looks more like an insane asylum as opposed to anything resembling what could be called "AwesomeLand." It turns out that Phil and Claire's new neighbours who moved in during the last episode, will have a hand in the turn of events that would turn Phil's happy concept into a bloody and spooky asylum theme. Steve Zahn and Andrea Andres return as guest stars Ronny and Amber Lafontaine who along with their two kids have moved in next door to the Dunphys. The move took place despite Phil and Claire's efforts to keep the loud and obnoxious family out.
The episode still clearly showed the contrast between Phil and Claire's ideas as Phil is seen wearing a colourful outfit complete with top hat. Meanwhile, Claire is seen wearing a bloody nurse outfit and unkempt hair. Meanwhile, Gloria has picked out Princess Fiona and Shrek costumes for herself and Jay Pritchett. She even dressed up her young son Joe as Donkey from the same animated film. Jay, however, would rather be prince charming than an ogre. He opts to dress up as the prince complete with a full head of confidence boosting hair.
In the episode promo plug, Cam could be seen dressed as Superman, but Mitchell doesn't seem too convinced that he can pull off the costume as he comments that Cam became breathless as he was attempting to act out as the caped crusader. Modern Family airs Wednesday nights on ABC.
