'Modern Family' Recap: Claire Is Concerned That Haley Is Slackig And Hooking Up With Andy 'The Manny'

In this week's episode of "Modern Family," Phil is worried about their daughter Alex who seems to be losing a lot of sleep. On the other hand, Claire is more worried about Haley who she feels is slacking and throwing her life away.

Phil has been noticing that Alex has been behaving oddly lately. He thinks she hasn't been sleeping much lately and has started to become disoriented. He brought it up with Claire who then said that Alex will be fine and that she's more worried about Haley. She said that Haley has spent nearly an entire day just sitting on the couch and flipping through magazines.

Aside from Haley's slacking, Claire also started becoming concerned when Andy "The Manny" started dropping by and spending a lot of time with Haley. Claire showed obvious disapproval to her daughter possibly ending up with a boy who works as a male nanny .

Phil was still observing Alex and noting that she wasn't getting much sleep, but Claire is adamant that something must be done about Haley. She confronted Haley about why Andy has been spending a lot of time with her lately, and Haley assured her that they are only having a purely physical relationship and that it's just sex. This isn't really true because they are just friends, but Haley said it to throw Claire off the scent.

It turned out that Haley was helping Andy because he wanted to offer his services to Phil so that he can train under him to become a real estate agent. Andy finally worked up the courage to approach Phil and asked him for an assitant's job. He explained how much he admired Phil's passion for his job and how he was able to provide for his family. Phil rejected him at first and then when Andy was about to leave feeling dejected, he said that the first lesson is to never take no for an answer. In the end, Phil accepted Andy.

Meanwhile, Haley also went for her own job interview with celebrity stylist Gavin Sinclair. The receptionist at Sinclair's office told her off and she just accepted it. After a dramatic bout of screaming at herself in her car, Haley went back in to fight for herself and her chance to face the stylist. She was still rejected by the receptionist but she saw her chance when Sinclair himself stepped out for a second.

He told her off too and said that she's too cutesy and lacked edge. She didn't give up and kept fighting for her cause and said that if she was too cutesy then his clients look like they just stepped out of "My Little Pony." The stylist liked her insult and tested her by asking her to strip down his assistant's outfit. She eventually got the job when he saw how good and knowledgeable she actually was.

Haley gave her parents the good news and Claire felt relieved that she was going to be fine after all. Haley and Andy then revealed that they were not really sleeping together but were only helping each other prepare for the job interviews. Just when Claire thought that everything was going to be fine, Phil's concerns were proven right when Alex walked in and appeared to be on a verge of a nervous breakdown. Claire saw her mistake and went ahead to attend to her other daughter.
