The Emmy Award winning comedy series "Modern Family" will return to TV screens this fall and its home network ABC has just released a fiery new cast photo incorporating all the main characters of the show.

The main families from the clan are featured in the photo shared by Entertainment Weekly which is set in a kitchen and centred around a flaming gas range. The Pritchett, Dunphy and Tucker family members are gathered in one shot with the family members in various states of distress or nonchalance towards the flaming range.

From the far left, Hayley Dunphy sits on a counter looking unaffected while her sister Alex looks completely freaked out beside her. Cam Tucker looks similarly shocked as he is flanked by new husband Mitch Pritchett and their adopted daughter Lily who seem to be attempting to put out the fire though a garden hose and a watering bucket respectively.

On the other side of the flames stand Claire and Phil Dunphy who are in on the attempt to contain the flames by holding a fire extinguisher and a bucket of water. Standing next to the Dunphy couple is Gloria and her son Fulgencio who both could not seem to care less about the fire and are beaming at the camera. Gloria's son Manny looks distressed and Luke Dunphy looks clueless beside him while at the end of the pack stands the family patriarch, Jay Pritchett who is looking stern and unaffected while holding up a book. A small way down is his pet dog, Stella who also made it into the cast shot.

The fifth season ended with the wedding of Cam and Mitch after several false starts making them officially the Tucker-Pritchetts. The pair discussed that they will be having their honeymoon in Mexico during the season finale and the upcoming season is presumed to pick up straight after the trip. With the actual trip over, the honeymoon stage is expected to last a bit longer but the couple adjusts at a different pace upon their return which causes some conflict.

Alex will also be returning from a humanitarian trip away from the Dunphy house and her return will cause a shift in the family's mood. Furthermore, veteran actor Steve Zahn is expected to join the cast as the head of the family that will be moving in next to the Dunphys and will prove to be their new neighbours from hell. Season 6 premieres on Sept. 24.
