"Modern Family" brings back the Halloween treats this season with an Oct. 24 episode called, "Open House of Horrors."

(Phil Dunphy, "open house," eh?)

The three-time Emmy award winning comedy series is expected to serve crazy tricks and treats in its Halloween episode. It may be difficult to top what the show runners presented in the second season, but they could always try.

"Halloween," the comedy's aptly called holiday special in its second season run is one of the show's highest rated episode. It also won an Emmy for Michael Spiller (Best Directing for a Comedy Series) in 2011.

In Season 2, Claire's passion for Halloween is introduced. The Dunphy home was turned into a house of horror because Claire "owns" Halloween. Viewers also learned that Cameron is suffering from a particular Halloween trauma and Mitch likes wearing a Spiderman costume.

This year, Gloria opts for an extraterrestrial vibe, which is extra spooky because no one could miss her baby bump in what she's wearing. Would anyone see an unidentified flying object, too?

For his part, Cam overcomes his trauma with not one, but two costumes for the occasion. And toddler Lily is dressed as an adorable princess, while Claire will be Little Bo Peep (who has lost her sheep).

There is no doubt that the Dunphies and the Pritchetts will be at their best and funniest for the Modern Family Halloween episode.

If you are still thinking of what costume to wear, tune in to get some idea. And then you will have only one week left to prepare for it.

If Halloween tricks fall right under your 'Likes,' you will have fun with "Open House of Horrors."

Modern Family received last month its third Emmy award as "Outstanding Comedy Series." Julia Bowen and Eric Stonestreet also brought home the Emmy for best supporting actress and actor in a comedy series, respectively.
