Season 6 of "Modern Family" kicked off last week with the episode "The Long Honeymoon." The latest season picked up three months after Mitch and Cam's wedding which ended last season with a bang. The season continues with episode 2 entitled "Do Not Push" and here are a few things to expect as shared by ABC Medianet:
At the Dunphy house, Alex returned from a humanitarian mission over the summer to find that she is causing an unbalance in the family's dynamics. What was a serene summer turned quickly into chaos when she arrived. She was appalled when she realised that they were trying to send her back to her hell hole humanitarian mission, a major confrontation ensued. Everything was resolved when a series of mishaps were resolved by Alex which led the family to realize how much they need her around. Now it's time for Alex to look into possible University options. The family visit Caltech which Claire (Julie Bowen) tries to push on Alex (Ariel Winter) to keep her close to home. Meanwhile, Phil Dunphy has other things in mind with the other two Dunphy kids. Phil (Ty Burrell), Haley (Sarah Hyland) and Luke participate in a psyche experiment.
At the Delgado-Pritchett house, Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) will be celebrating an anniversary. Their marital squabbles continue after their issue on grooming in the first episode where Gloria felt that Jay was no longer making an effort to look good for her. This time around, the conflict lies in the type of gift they should give each other for their honeymoon. The choice is between a sentimental and meaningful gift or an expensive and highly valuable one.
Over at the Tucker-Pritchett house, the newlyweds Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) have plans of getting a new family portrait taken. They intend to replace an outdated one that they still have on display but their adopted daughter Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) does not agree with their plans.
The second episode of the season premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014. "Modern Family" has won five consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for "Best Comedy Series" and are now tied with "Frasier" for the most number of consecutive accolades. The current season could be record breaking if the series manages to secure a sixth trophy.
