'Modern Family' Season 6, Episode 3 Spoilers: 'The Cold'
Season 6 of ABC's hit TV series "Modern Family" is in full swing with its third episode entitled "The Cold." The season started three months after Mitch and Cam's wedding, which was featured in the season 5 finale. After newlyweds Mitch and Cam's easing out of honeymoon stage, episode 3 goes back to events during the wedding, which are still affecting the clan several months later.
The Dunphy family has been hit with a terrible cold that just suddenly plagued them seemingly out of nowhere. The truth behind the virus is uncovered while Phil Dunphy is editing some of the videos that were taken during Mitch and Cam's wedding. He discovered that there is some footage incriminating him as the person who brought the cold into the family. In an attempt to hide the evidence, he needs to do some editing on the videos before anyone else sees them. Based on some photos posted by Spoiler TV, Phil has also enlisted the help of his son Luke in shooting some footage to incorporate into the video. The two of them could be seen wearing suits while tinkering around with a video camera and a green screen.
Meanwhile, at the Delgado-Pritchett household, another throwback from the wedding takes place. Andy "The Manny" or male nanny has returned. He is the male nanny for Jay and Gloria's son Fulgencio or "Joe." He was last seen in the season 5 finale where he was heading off to see his girlfriend. She had actually broken up with him but he was flying over in an attempt to win her back. Haley Dunphy discovered the truth and advised him not to go and said that he shouldn't let a girl treat him that way. Andy was touched by Haley's concern and the two formed an unexpected bond. When Alex noticed what was happening, she warned Haley not to play around with Andy. The small talk from Alex was what brought Haley to tell Andy that he deserved better when he showed her his interest, effectively turning him down.
Jay and Gloria just celebrated another wedding anniversary and they had a difference in opinion as to what kind of gifts they should give each other. Now they are at odds again and this time, it's about how to help Manny handle the stress of being in a football team. Manny's struggles in high school football are also affecting his uncle Cam who is coaching the team. Cam has always been competitive especially when it comes to sports. Manny, on the other hand, has never really been the sporty type. Cam now faces the dilemma of whether or not he should bench his nephew.
Mitch is taking a page out of Cam's book on being competitive too, according to Medianet. It seems that Mitch has struck up some kind of rivalry with Lily's new friend Sydney who is a very smart little girl and is proving herself to be a genius. Mitch, like Cam doesn't take being upstaged very well.
