Molly Meldrum Biopic To Be Aired Soon; Grant Piro Eyes Lead Role
A two-part small screen movie is currently under wraps. Its core subject is the 71-year-old popular music critic, journalist and entrepreneur Ian Alexander "Molly" Meldrum AM. The movie will cover his career in music industry right from the start of his work as a TV figure. The movie is also likely to include the life threatening fall, which resulted in his coma in 2011.
As per the rumours floating, actor Grant Piro is likely to play Meldrum. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. The widely received character of Piro in 'INXS: Never Tear Us Apart' mini-series, which aired on TV earlier this year, appears to be a major consideration in possibly choosing him to play the part in the upcoming biopic.
Meldrum has also finished his autobiography and is slated to unveil it in October. The book is titled 'The Never Um...Ever Ending Story'. It is co-authored by Jeff Jenkins, and sources reveal that the book will be offering some exclusive scoops, such as an entire chapter of Michael Jackson. The book will also feature never heard before anecdotes about Meldrum's famous friends like Madonna, Elton John and Rod Stewart.
