More Sex Means More Monetary Earnings, Study Suggests
A new study found that people who have more sex are likely to have better salaries. Men and women who engage in the sexual acts twice in a week, regardless of existing health conditions, were said to earn 4.5. percent higher than those who have lesser sex.
The study, conducted in the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, was performed through the review of survey data from 7,500 participants in a Greek behavioural research. The researchers discovered that disabled workers were 13 percent less sexually active. Furthermore, employees with heart conditions, such as coronary heart disease and angina were 11.4 percent less likely to have sex. Conversely, healthy employees engage in sexual intercourse more often.
"The vast medical and psychological literature concludes that sexual activity is associated with good health and improved physical and mental capacities, psychological well-being and dietary habits," study author Nick Drydakis wrote. "It is important to gain knowledge of the factors that can positively or negatively affect your sexual activity, and health is one of the biggest factors of all.” Further into the study, it was found that employees who engage in sexual intercourse, even if they have existing medical conditions, are able to earn 1.5 percent more that those who have the same conditions but are not sexually active.
The study cited the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory, saying that people who are happier and more fulfilled in life are more productive and are thus more likely to be successful in the corporate world. This then can be attributed to the higher wages of these individuals. The researchers suggested that it is a need to love and be loved, whether it be through sexual expression or not. Without the feeling of love and belongingness, individuals tend to feel more lonely, socially anxious and depressed.
