'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones'' Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower and Robert Sheehan Talk 'Friendzoning' [PHOTOS]
"The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" is one of the most highly anticipated film adaptations of the year. Adapted from Cassandra Clare's best-selling novels, "TMI" tells the story of a world hidden within our own involving angels, demons, vampires, fairies and werewolves. Of course, the usual humans are involved with half-angels of which also get mixed up with "friend zoning."
No one knows getting "friend zoned" as hard as Robert Sheehan's character, Simon Lewis, in "The Mortal Instruments." Apart from having to see his best friend and first love, Clary Fray, pucker up to a guy he hates, Simon has to endure being around the lovey-dovey couple and act as Clary's shoulder to lean on in times of distress.
While the trio, Clary Fray, Simon Lewis and Jace Wayland, share an awkward "friend and boyfriend zone" environment onscreen, the opposite is true for their actors in real life. Jamie Campbell Bower, Lily Collins and Robert Sheehan are all good friends who have ironically been "friend zoned" one way or another in real life. Despite Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower having split early this month, the former "Jamily" couple remain in good ties which somehow throw them back into the "friend zone."
"Friend zoned" or not, with the film adaptation of "The Mortal Instruments" released in cinemas nationwide, "Team Simon" and "Team Jace" will surely be a hit with the teen crowd once more.
