'The Mortal Instruments' Jamie Campbell Bower and Lily Collins: What's Next for the 'Jamily' Duo? [PHOTOS]
With the "City of Ashes" production delayed, fans of the "Jamily" couple are wondering what's next for Jamie Campbell Bower and Lily Collins. The lead couple of "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" have not once been spotted together since after the films' Mexico red carpet premiere. Where and what exactly are Jamie and Lily up to now?
Fans of Cassandra Clare's best-selling novels, "The Mortal Instruments" have been subject to depressing news over the week. Following the "disastrous" opening of "City of Bones," producers of the franchise have decided to delay shooting for the upcoming sequel, "City of Ashes." Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, Jemima West and Robert Sheehan were supposedly scheduled to hit back to the studio this month to shoot the sequel but plans have obviously changed.
"Pushing back the start of production of City of Ashes was a decision we did not take lightly," said Martin Moszkowicz, the film's executive producer, adding, "But after speaking with all of our partners on the creative and distribution side, it was clear that it will be beneficial to have more time to reposition the film in the current market place."
For the author, Cassandra Clare, the delay is good for the franchise in hopes of making the sequel better for fans of the books.
"Speaking for myself - and honestly, for readers and fans, too - I think a delay could be good. The draft of the screenplay I saw for the first time last week was very far from the book City of Ashes, and if they'd really started shooting in September there wouldn't have been time to change it. From the limited amount I know, it seems to me better to take the time to get it right than to rush ahead," wrote Clare on her official Tumblr account.
This means it'll be a while before fans get to see the beloved "Jamily" couple together once more. So what is keeping both Lily and Jamie busy? Collins had currently wrapped up shoot for her film, "Love Rosie" where she played the role of a mom to actress Lily Laight. On the other hand, Jamie Campbell Bower was last spotted in Hong Kong where he had got a rose inked on his right knee. Coincidentally, Lily was spotted at the LAX with a rose tattoo on her right foot as well.
Following the delays and all, it will certainly be a while before fans of Clare's novels get to see their stars back in action for the sequel. For now, check out the slideshow to see the adorable moments of the "Jamily" couple.
