Moto X: Launched with Moto Maker for Customisable Colour Accents, Storage Size and Features; Developer Edition Coming Soon with 32 GB Storage and Unlockable Bootloader
AT&T is now launching Moto X alongside the Moto Maker Web site for designing colour tones, storage size and matching accessories. Motorola also announced an upcoming Developers Edition of Moto X with 32 GB of internal storage and unlockable bootloader.
Moto Maker for Moto X
Motorola proudly announced customisable options for Moto X and, finally, that part started. AT&T is launching the Moto X alongside the Moto Maker Web site which allow buyers to customise their smartphone in terms of colour, storage capacity and matching accessories.
Customisable #1: A buyer can customise the colour tones of Moto X among 18 colour ranges from Navy to Mint which are categorised as "Cool Colours" to Crimson and Cabernet as from the category "Warm Colours."
Customisable #2: For the front area of the device, buyers can choose between white and black tones. In addition, there are seven accent colours to choose from which begins with the word "Metallic."
The Moto Maker site allows you to mix tones and displays if the combination is great or simply hideous. Buyers can spin the customised demo unit up to 360 degree view to see everything from front to back.
Customisable #3: Moto Maker also allows engraving up to 20 characters which may include your name and other phrases you like.
Customisable #4: According to the Web site, you can customise both storage size capacity and features included upon purchase, but it is best to visit your network carrier to ensure detailed information.
Customisable #5: Another part which you can customise for Moto X is the matching accessories. These may include headphones, docking port and more. Check your local retailers if the option is available.
Developer's Edition
For techies and beyond, Motorola has announced an upcoming Developer Edition of Moto X which will feature 32 GB of on-board storage and an unlockable bootloader for experiments.
According to information from Motorola caught by the AndroidAuthority, the Developer Edition will also include an engraving on the back which says "Developer Edition" aside from the on-board storage and unlockable bootloader. However, unlocking the bootloader of the Developer Edition still falls under the rule of "voids all warranties and may cause serious harm to your device."
Moto X Developer Edition 32 GB has no price tag yet, but it is expected to be sold at full price which may cost around $630, similar to the off-contract 32 GB of the Moto X original model. As of now, it is unclear if the Developer Edition version can be ordered online or if it has different customisable arrangements using the Moto Maker.
