Motorola announces Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Moto G3
Third generation Moto G will start receiving the Marshmallow 6.0 update. The telecommunications company recently announced the news through a post on Twitter.
“Here is something new and amazing for your Moto G (3rd gen.), the Android 6.0 Marshmallow!” Motorola India wrote on Twitter. The post was welcomed by many Motorola fans who wrote about their excitement of getting the latest software update.
The Moto G3 will now get upgraded from Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The update will help add new features to your device like the Doze mode and the Google Now on Tap. There will be more features in the OS update that will help with simple volume control.
The best part is that users of Moto G3 will receive a notificationsabout the latest software update in their phone. However, if they cannot see the notification then they can check for the update manually by going to Settings-About phone-System update, reports The Hindu.
Doze is one of the most significant features of the new OS update. It is an intelligent battery management feature that senses when your device is idle and will immediately put your phone to sleep. Smartphones without the Doze feature tend to lose an average of 15 to 25 percent of battery life overnight when it is idle. However, Doze helps in minimizing battery power loss from 3 to 5 percent in a phone when not in use.
Google Now on Tap is another interesting feature of the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. It helps offer time and context-sensitive information, reminders and notifications. After you press the home button for an extended time, the Google Now on Tap appears on the screen of the phone, observes Android Pit.
According to an official Motorola blog, the Moto G3 has spectacular features. The device sports a 13MP rear camera that includes a colour-balancing dual LED flash. The phone has a 5-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone also uses a 2,470 battery and comes with a microSD card slot. The expandable memory has up to 32GB storage capacity.
