Movember Australia: Why Men Grow Their Beards for the Entire Month of November [VIDEOS]
Each time November 1 arrives, Movember Australia becomes a high running trend in Down Under. In other versions, it is called as Noshember or even No Shave November. In short, it makes the month of November a time of the year where men from all over decide to not shave their facial hair for a certain cause.
JaxObserver explains that Movember Australia is different from No Shave November since the latter does not raise money for a certain campaign, but is simply a contest. But with Movember Australia, it is about a month full of activities that will help raise the level of awareness with regard to men's health.
Movember Australia: How it Started?
It started in Melbourne, way back in 2004 by a small group of 30 guys. They were the first group who grew their moustaches for a whole month and helped fund an awareness campaign with regards to fighting depression and prostate cancer among men. They were called later on as Movember Foundation charity and have raised a total of $299 million from global sources.
In other countries like the U.S., Movember Australia has gathered partners like TOMS and Gillette. Together with the rest of its supporters, all are united to promote men's health through a very interesting themed campaign.
Here are the Rules
It is important that every guy who joins will begin with a clean face exactly on November 1.
Then for the entire November, he must grow a moustache and groom it well too.
Make sure that the moustache will not reach the sideburns, for if it does, then it is already recognized as a beard.
Goatees are not also considered and hence the handlebars should not join the chin.
But above all, each guy participant should handle himself like one true gentleman.
