To watch movies has always been a part of the Christmas season especially for families, friends and loved ones. At the same time, it is the day that most movie producers and exhibitors look forward to for the biggest sales made on movie tickets.

This year, Hollywood has prepared a lot of great films whether it is for a group of adults or families and parents that are seeking for fun and wholesome thrills. Here we feature those movies you can catch on the big screen. Check out more pictures in the following slideshow!

'War Horse.' This is the adaptation of Steven Spielberg of the novel by Michael Morpurgo. It tells the heartwarming story of a young farmer and his horse plus the kind deeds he made in the middle of World War I.

'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.' Known to be the 'feel bad' movie of this holiday season which is the adaptation of the hit novels of Stieg Larsson. Directed by David Fincher, the movie serves to be controversial due to the violence and sexual scenes portrayed but done artistically. This is a no-no for the kids, but a must-watch for the adults.

'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.' This is the fourth in the popular movie series which features the character of Ethan Hunt in the lead played out by Tom Cruise. The entire family will surely enjoy the whole movie.

'The Adventures of Tintin.' This stars the favourite Belgian boy who is such a great and young detective along with his cute dog Snowy and the always drunk Captain Haddock. If you want old cartoons done in modern effects, then have a taste of some European cartoon in the US.

'We Bought A Zoo.' This is the first comeback film of Cameron Crowe since his flop 'Elizabethtown' last 2005. This is a family film that stars Matt Damon with the beautiful Scarlett Johansson.

The rest of the films include 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,' 'Hugo,' and 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.'
