Moving On: Zayn Malik Shaves Head, Pierces Nose For An Edgier Look

Pop sensation Zayn Malik who left One Direction debuted an edgier look at the 5th Annual Asian Awards in London. Fans who have been heartbroken about the star's exit from One Direction have been raving about his look and many see this as a step towards an intense solo career.

Zayn Malik transformed himself into a more serious avatar by shaving off his wavy hair and getting a nose piercing. Malik who quit from One Direction said, “I was tired of repeating himself and want to live my life as a normal 22-year-old.” The 23-day old vigil by Zayn fans was rewarded with Malik walking on the red carpet with his dashing new look. His metamorphosis from a teenage pop sensation to grown up 22-year-old was greeted with applause across the social media. Fans gave thumbs up to his edgier look and were ecstatic to see their pop icon receive an award. Twitter went overboard with fans raving about his look and Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan tweeted “Zayn Malik is so cool.” Zayn posed for selfies and needed help from his security to move through the crowd.

Zayn's transformation is reminiscent of the route taken by other teenage sensations like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. Miley who was tired of the Hannah Montana tag went full punk and twerked her way to a naughty girl image. Justin Bieber also had brushes with the law and body transformation to grow up. But for fans who were used to their angelic looks, it was a shock but the stars are more popular than ever. One Direction is one of the popular boy bands have continued to remain together. Zayn on course to the solo career is all set to cut away from his dreamy boy look.
