The MTV Video Music Awards 2013 happened Sunday night. It was the time for most musicians to showcase their talent, receive awards and just enjoy the show. But the MTV VMA is also famous for who wore what on the red carpet and during performance. It was a star-studded evening with singers like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake present, among others.

Perhaps the star that caught the biggest attentinon was none other than Lady Gaga. While Lady Gaga's performance, "Applause," was one of the most talked about, it was the sea-shell dress leaving her bum exposed that got the audience's attention. Obviously, the singer didn't mind, as she sat quite comfortable and almost naked after her performance. Althogh the audience loved the singer's daring outfit, they loved seeing her perform her single on stage more.

Another star that caught our attention at the VMA was Miley Cyrus. Miley was really up to something at the MTV VMAs. This year, as the singer came with the weirdest hairstyle ever, and possibly the most outrageous performance from a star with a teen following. She popped her hair in two small pony curls on top of her head. If this was not enough, the singer stripped down to her skimpy shiny skin-coloured underwear with an equally bizarre foam finger sticking to her hand. She grabbed her crotch several times during her performance and rubbed the artificial finger on her private parts, too!

Next comes Katy Perry and her fashion sense. She was completely out there to promote her new single "Roar," and her dress reflected it from every angle. Perry wore a skin-tight leopard print dress from designer Emanuel Ungaro. She took the promotion a little further by flashing a grill that read "Roar"!

Meanwhile, fashion icon Rihanna did not perform; hence, she was dressed very casually in a white t-shirt and black denims. The singer supported her look with bright red lip colour. But don't you think it was a little disappointing for RiRi's fans to see her all covered up? They would have loved to see RiRi in some body-baring dress as she appeared in the carnival at her home town.

On the other hand, model Erin Wasson showed off her really sleek figure in a sheer see-through dress. She wore a Givenchy turban, too! Now, isn't this weird?

But perhaps the weirdest of all was Lil Kim who wore a tight bottom-baring leather dress, which is why she bags the trophy for the worst-dressed female on this year's VMA.
