At the MTV Awards 2013 in Brooklyn, Lady Gaga shunned bizarre and turned up in a chic black gown and sporting long black hair. She looked sizzling hot and elegant in the low-neck, evening gown. She did bare it all when she kicked-off the MTV Awards at the Barclays Center with her new single, "Applause." She stripped down to a skimpy bikini after more than a couple of costume and wig changes during the performance.

Fitness guru Richard Simmons was dressed to hurt the eyes. He turned up at the Red Carpet of VMA Awards 2013, dressed in a dazzling, loud orange tank top and fluorescent green exercise, skin-tight pants, and was wearing white sneakers. He kissed Katy Perry's hand and said to the press, "Music is Therapy." The shocking dressing sense could undo all the therapy.

One Direction band members presented the first award of the night, the best pop video. Selena Gomez's "Come & Get It" beat the competition that included Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven"; Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors"; fun. "Carry On"; and Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop."

And, later One Direction band members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne returned to take back to England "Best Song of the Summer" award. Along with the award, they also received jeers from the audience. It looks like the boys from the UK came, saw, presented, won but could not conquer.

Backstage, Lady Gaga was there to support band members of One Direction. "Don't you dare let those people boo you," she told them, as quoted by Mirror 3 am. "If I did hear what I heard out there, I just want to tell you that you deserve every bit of success that you have."

"I want to leave right now. I don't want to stay anymore because I don't want to be in a room where people are booing."

It was short but the most awaited reunion was worth the wait. Justin Timberlake and his N'Sync band-mates Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, J.C. Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick reunited for the MTV VMA Awards at the Barclays Center. They got the audience standing and clapping for the most popular boys-band of the 1990s. The reuion turned out lucky for Timberlake as he took home the Video of the Year award for "Mirrors."

Katy Perry's new single "Roar" brought the MTV awards 2013 to the closing line. She performed live under the Brooklyn Bridge, wearing a animal print and boxing shorts. She performed inside a boxing ring. Did she receive some tips from Simmons at the Red Carpet? -- because the performance impressed and enthralled. Oprah Winfrey ‏@Oprah tweeted: "@katyperry Hearing you Roar! #MTVVMAs."
