The 62nd edition of Miss Universe Pageant Preliminary Round kicked off last night in Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia featuring 86 candidates from across the globe all vying for the Nexus crown. Reigning Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and Nick Teplitz hosted the preliminary round as they present the candidates in their best evening gown and swimwear.

Olivia Culpo surely dazzled the Russian audience with her commanding presence; she's very articulate and funny that she hosted the whole event with ease and sophistication. She is counting the days as Miss Universe and will be turning over the crown to the next queen of the universe.

The 86 candidates for this year's Miss Universe pageant will be judged in three major categories: the evening gown, swimwear and personal interview round which will be on November 9 in Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. Now that the two major rounds are done, the candidates can enjoy the rest of the day as they prepare for the pageant's final day, the coronation night.

The whole event was streamed live in the official Miss Universe website and will be aired live tonight at 9PM ET time in NBC. The evening gown and swimwear competition was reviewed by the seven distinguished judges including Alicia Quarles; a New York-based corresponded for E! News.

After three hours of non-stop parade of beauties, host Nick Teplitz announced the lucky winner for the national costume judged by the blue ribbon committee. Miss Nicaragua Nastassja Bolivar stunned audiences with her national costume two days before the preliminary competition. As a price, she will receive a US $5000 credit card courtesy of the Russian Standard Bank.
