Mum Of Reeva Steenkamp Claims In Book No Sex Between Daughter & Oscar Pistorius
Convicted athlete Oscar Pistorius and his slain girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp didn't have sex because she was afraid to elevate their relationship to the next level, claimed Steenkamp's mother, June, in her book titled Reeva: a Mother's Story.
The book is expected to be out on Nov 6.
The mother said Reeva, 29, shared that detail with her even if the couple spent nights together many times. She said that her daughter was determined to break her relationship with Pistorius with her clothes already packed when the incident happened, which resulted in the death of Reeva.
The 68-year-old woman believes Pistorius, the first double amputee Paralympian - also called the Blade Runner - to compete against able-bodied sportsmen at the 2012 London Olympics, did not tell the court the truth when he said that he didn't know who is the person inside the toilet when he fired four bullets through its door.
On Wednesday, Judge Thokozile Masipa gave Pistorius a five-year sentence for the culpable homicide or manslaughter of Reeva. June said she accepted the court's ruling since she and husband Barry were not exacting revenge on her daughter's boyfriend but sought "a fair punishment under the circumstances on his disabilities," News24 quoted the elder Steenkamp.
She also described Pistorius as arrogant, moody, volatile, combustible and trigger-happy as well as too possessive of Reeva.
In his defense, Pistorius said he thought there was an intruder inside the toilet that was why he fired four shots at the closed toilet door, unknowingly killing his girlfriend.
