Two legendary television heroes Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Who come face to face with each other in an epic mash up video created by a fan. It is a short crossover episode of sorts featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as genius detective and Matt Smith as a doctor with the purpose of saving the world. The video is aptly titled "Wholock" and is a must watch for all the fans of Steven Moffat shows "Sherlock" and "Doctor Who."

A YouTube user named John Smith created "Wholock" which showcases Sherlock as a new companion of Doctor Who. He is on a trip to explore Tardis. This mash up video of "Sherlock" and "Doctor Who" features Matt Smith's Doctor Who, Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock along with Martin Freeman as John Watson. It is done up with several Adobe and Photoshop effects. Various scenes and dialogues have been blended together, meticulously and skillfully by the creator of this fan fiction. This fan made crossover episode shows what will happen when Sherlock will enter Tardis.

Sherlock and John Watson are in their Baker Street house when the genius detective is approached by Matt Smith's Doctor Who in a mysterious manner. He figures that something strange is happening in the phone booth outside 221 Baker Street. As Sherlock opens the door of the phone booth and enters inside, he meets the Doctor and finds out he is in Tardis. Scroll down to watch the full crossover episode "Wholock."

The introduction to the video as posted on YouTube reads: "Months after an encounter with a mysterious 'Doctor', Sherlock becomes obsessed with discovering more about this impossible man... until the man makes an unexpected return."

The video was first published on YouTube on Dec. 11 2013 and has garnered more than 900,000 views by now. Many Web sites tag "Wholock" video as an "amazingly" done up mash up or fan fiction.

In a VFX Breakdown video, John Smith provides details of how he created "Wholock," blending scenes of the two series and effects to perfect the amalgamation.

Also, "Doctor Who" and "Sherlock" return on the same day to TV with special episodes airing on Xmas Day, Dec. 25, 2013 on BBC One. Matt Smith will be seen in his last adventure as Doctor Who on Xmas in the episode titled "The Time of the Doctor." And Benedict Cumberbatch will be making a return as Sherlock in a mini episode on Christmas Day which will be followed by Sherlock Season 3, starting on Jan. 19, 2014 in U.S. and Jan. 1, 2014 in UK.
