Customers and communities who have been affected by the recent natural disasters in Queensland, New South Wales
and Victoria will get additional measures from the National Australia Bank to rebuild their homes and businesses.

Families and businesses can partake of the measures announced on Thursday that will provide additional direct assistance in excess of $15 million to
NAB customers and communities impacted by the Queensland, New South Wales and Victorian floods and Cyclone Yasi.

As Australia's leading business bank NAB Business Banking also announced today that it will pledge
an initial commitment of $4 billion in lending to support Queensland businesses with the task of
rebuilding.

NAB's additional customer and community support measures include:

$15 million Assistance Fund for NAB Home Insurance customers
It has become clear following recent flood events in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria that
some customers who have been impacted by the floods have found themselves not covered by their
insurance policy.

NAB has established an Assistance Fund of up to $15 million which can be used to provide ex-gratia
payments to assist NAB Home Insurance customers who are not covered for the losses they have
suffered in the recent floods.

NAB Home Insurance customers who have already made a claim which was declined under their policy
will be proactively contacted by our specialist team.

$4 billion in NAB Business Banking lending support for Queensland
As Australia's and Queensland's largest business bank, NAB has announced today that it will pledge an
initial commitment of $4 billion to support Queensland businesses and help them rebuild and recover.

$1 million Queensland community support fund
NAB will also increase its contribution to $1 million to a special fund it has established to support
Queensland communities affected by the recent disasters.

$1.25 million contributed by NAB and NAB employees to the disaster relief effort
The additional Queensland natural disaster assistance measures announced today come on top of:

  • $450,000 in contributions from NAB staff to the QLD Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal
  • $800,000 contribution from NAB to the QLD Premier's Disaster Relief
  • $1 million additional capital support commitment for NAB's Queensland micro-finance program
