Naked Golden Beach Man Steals Police Car in Queensland
A Queensland man allegedly stole a police car, and he was wearing no clothes while committing the crime.
The incident took place in Sunshine Coast when officers were on duty at a car crash site in Maroochydore. It was around 7:30 in the evening (AEST) on Saturday, Nov 30, the man took the police car as his entertainment vehicle and went for a ride with no clothes covering his bare body. The traffic crash occurred at the Aerodrome Road and Maud Street intersection. The officers did try to take the man out of the car but he managed to drive to off.
Later, the police vehicle was found at the Beach Road and Ocean Street intersection and the naked man was arrested. The age of the man is reported to be 26, and he is from Golden Beach. He has been charged with two counts of wilful exposure, The Courier Mail reports. The man was apparently in a highly intoxicated condition. If he was not in such a state of mind, he may not have made such a blunder with a police car. However, that does not make his offence any less severe.
The naked man has also been charged for the way he used the police car. He is charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. In addition to the charges mentioned, he has been charged with one count for being adversely affected by an intoxicating substance. On the other hand, the police have also charged him with one count for obstructing police.
At the moment, not much information is available about the man or the reason why he did such a thing. Nevertheless, the naked man accused of three separate charges for his inexplicable act on Saturday is going to appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates court on Monday, Dec 2, 2013.
