The new romantic comedy No Strings Attached starring Natalia Portman and Ashton Kutcher is set to be pit against Seth Rogen’s The Green Hornet in its second week.

Portman is on a high after her Golden Globe best actress in a drama win for the Black Swan, a movie that surprisingly is faring better than expected at the cinemas. No Strings Attached is directed by Ivan Reitman and questions whether casual sex can remain that way. It is the story of long time friends who become casual sex buddies. The movie is expected to appeal among younger women and older female teens market.

Other movies to be shown include Australian filmmaker Peter Weir's The Way Back, opening in 650 theaters. The film is a drama set in World War II.

The Weinstein Co. will also release John Wells’ The Company Men one year after it was shown in the Sundance Film Festival.

The month of January is generally not seen as a peak season for movie goers although it was able to beat expectations with such mega-hits like Avatar. Award-winning movies like Black Swan and The King’s Speech have surpassed expectations with the Swan earning $76.6 million on Wednesday and the the King’s Speech about $48.6 million. The Black Swan led to a Globe acting award for Portman while the King’s Speech gave Colin Firth a top acting award as well.
