After numerous speculations Danny Granger is set to officially join the Los Angeles Clippers days after being waived by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Granger was acquired by the Sixers in deal with the Indiana Pacers at the trade deadline which involved second round picks and guard Evan Turner. Philadelphia promptly waived the small forward paving the way for the veteran to sign with a contending team.

Rumours on Tuesday stated that Granger was interested in signing with about five teams if he hits free agency. Other teams reportedly of interest were the Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, Chicago Bulls and the San Antonio Spurs.

Candace Buckner, a beat reporter for the Pacers with Indy Star Sports first broke the story.

Just heard from a source close to Danny Granger that he's going to the Los Angeles Clippers. Will be there tomorrow.

An hour or so later, the signing was confirmed by various sources including Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports and Ramon Shelbourne of ESPN.com, who said that the nine-year pro will sign with the Clippers for the rest of the season.

International Business Times Australia reported early Thursday that the Clippers were the front-runners for Granger’s services. It now appears that indeed he will join the likes of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan for what is becoming a deep Clippers bench.

The Clippers also signed Glen Davis to a contract after being waived by the Orlando Magic this February.

Granger, who can slide to either small forward or power forward, will add size to what was a thin frontline for the Clippers. He played in 29 games for the Pacers this season with averages of 8.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game.
