Australian teenager Dante Exum is expected to declare his availability for the upcoming 2014 NBA Draft after meeting with several agents in Australia, a source close to situation reported on Tuesday.

Exum, who emerged as one of the most coveted NBA prospects for this year's draft following his sensational performance at Nike Hoops Summit and World Basketball Championship U-19, is considered a franchise-changing point guard with ability to make impact on both ends of the floor.

According to the source, Exum is close to announcing his availability in this year's draft, depriving college basketball fans the chance to see the 6-foot-6 playmaker balling with major basketball programmes.

"I would be shocked if he doesn't enter the draft," one agent who recently met with Exum's family told Yahoo Sports. "He knows he's a lottery pick, and knows several teams have him very high on their boards. His family knows that this is an opportunity that may not come again."

Another agent who traveled to Australia told Yahoo: "This is a bright, thoughtful kid - a great family - and they're taking their time to think all this through. But in the end, I didn't sense anything that would hold him back from [the draft]. ... I can't imagine him not coming out."

Exum will likely join Andrew Wiggins, Jabbari Parker, Marcus Smart and Aaron Gordon, who all declared for their availability in this summer's loaded draft.
