NBA News: Memphis Grizzlies Shake Up Front Office
After a disappointing first round exit in the 2014 NBA Playoffs, it appears the Memphis Grizzlies are already looking to shake up their roster—from top to bottom.
Grizzlies owner Robert Pera has booted out the chief executive officer Jason Levien and assistant general manager Stu Lash on Monday afternoon stated in an ESPN report. According to the article, sources said that “a breakdown in the relationship between Pera and Levien” was one of the reasons of the firing.
“The decision was made for Jason Levien and Stu Lash to depart the organization," said a statement from the Memphis organization.
"Our franchise has made tremendous strides over the last few seasons and we thank Jason for his hard work and dedication and wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors. Rest assured that we remain as committed as ever to bringing a championship to this great city and we are confident that when the new season begins our fans will be excited about both our roster and the direction of our organization," in a released statement from Pera.
The status of head coach Dave Joerger and vice president of basketball operations John Hollinger remain unclear as both personnel were tapped by Levien. Joerger replaced Hollins in the 2013 offseason despite the fact that Memphis was coming from a Western Conference Finals appearance.
One Memphis player, defensive stalwart Tony Allen took to social media how he felt about the recent development.

Popular writer Bill Simmons has his take on the matter via Twitter:
Hearing that, if the Grizz totally clean house, the Memphis owner will look to trade for Tom Thibodeau + give him an SVG/Pistons-type deal. — Bill Simmons (@BillSimmons) May 19, 2014
PS: Bulls need assets for a run at Kevin Love, an extra 1st round pick would help. They'd hire Fred Hoiberg if Thibs got traded. Stay tuned.

Is the front office shake up just the tip of the iceberg? After coming up short the past few seasons, will Memphis take a sharp turn to rebuilding?
