Ricky Rubio showed the NBA what he is capable of delivering a triple-double for the third time in his career. The Minnesota Timberwolves want to see another huge all-around performance from the Spanish point guard when they visit the Houston Rockets on Thursday.

Minnesota is in the second game of a back-to-back after a 123-122 overtime win in Dallas. Rubio had 22 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists to lead the Timberwolves to their third win in four outings. MVP candidate Kevin Love also had a big night with 35 points shooting 11-of-20 from the field.

All Minnesota starters finished in double-figure scoring as Kevin Martin (19), Corey Brewer (13) and Gorgui Dieng (10) helped the T’Wolves built a 37-24 1st quarter lead.

Meanwhile, Houston snapped a three-game skid with an easy 124-86 blowout win versus the Utah Jazz. Dwight Howard missed the game because of an ankle injury but Terrence Jones stepped up on offense ending up with 30 points.

Back-up center Omer Asik, who started in lieu of Howard, had 12 points and 11 rebounds and will need to contribute once again as D12 is expected to be out against the Timberwolves.

Houston has dominated the season series versus Minnesota winning 112-101 on November 23 and 107-89 on February 10. Love has averaged 29.0 points in those games but his team couldn’t stop the Rockets starters—in both games, all first five finished in double-figure scoring.
