NBA Preview: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Memphis Grizzlies [Live Streaming Info and Betting Odds]
While the Oklahoma City Thunder is missing their star point guard, the Memphis Grizzlies court general is playing like an NBA All-Star in recent games. The Thunder, still without Russell Westbrook, will visit Memphis with Mike Conley who has a career-high stretch in the last three games.
Oklahoma is in some sort of funk since losing Westbrook to another injury in December going just 5-4 in games without their starting PG. Memphis hasn't recovered yet from its bad start but is playing better of late, winning three of their last four outings.
With just a 17-19 win-loss card, the Grizzlies’ short-term goal is get back to the 0.500 mark and Conley is leading the way after dropping 21, 31 and 30 points in the last three. He’s also running the team well, averaging 8.4 assists per outing in this stretch.
Oklahoma is searching for answers and consistent support for Kevin Durant, who averages a league-leading 29.6 PPG, 8.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists. Durant is listed as day-to-day against Memphis because of a minor wrist injury.
The Thunder suffered back-to-back disappointing losses to the Utah Jazz, 112-101, and Denver Nuggets, 101-88, before winning an easy blowout over the Milwaukee Bucks, 101-85. Durant had 33 points in that last game and had ample help from Serge Ibaka (17 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocked shots), Thabo Sefolosha (14 points and 6 rebounds) and Jeremy Lamb (17 points).
OKC beat Memphis, 116-100, in their first outing for 2014. It was the first match-up between the West rivals after the Grizzlies eliminated the Thunder in the 2013 postseason.
