Monta Ellis scored 21 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 15 points as the Dallas Mavericks cruised to a 107-88 victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday at the American Airline Arena.

The Mavericks improved their home record to 14-6 and 23-16 overall, following another excellent performance from their dynamic duo. Nowitzki, who is averaging All-Star numbers again this season (21.3 points and 5.8 rebounds), assumed the sidekick role this time as Ellis led the charge for the surging Mavs.

Vince Carter continued to fend off father time as he contributed 17 markers, while Wayne Ellington added 12, both off the bench for Dallas, who outscored the Magic in the first and second quarter to build a double-digit advantage into the second half.

Glen Davis tallied 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Jameer Nelson had 21 points for the Magic, who are now 10-28 in the season.

The Mavericks captured their third straight victory against sub-.500 teams since their disappointing blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs. They are now heading into a three-game schedule versus Western Conference playoff contenders starting on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers on the road.

The Mavericks are currently sitting in third place behind the Houston Rockets (25-14) and San Antonio Spurs (30-8) in the Southwest Division standings. The Magic, on the other hand, plummeted to the bottom of the Southeast Standings with a 10-28 record.
