The Brooklyn Nets beat the visiting Houston Rockets, 105-96 on Tuesday night and clinced a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Rockets have beaten the Nets at home in the past 11 years and have won 14 straight since 2006 but couldn't extend the streak playing without starting center Dwight Howard, who was out of commission because of a sprained left ankle.

Joe Johnson topscored with 32 points to leads six Nets in double-figure scoring. Shaun Livingston added 17 points and 6 rebounds while Deron Williams had 12 points and 6 assists.

Omer Asik stepped up big in lieu of Howard finishing with a double-double of 12 points and 23 rebounds.
