The Miami Heat wanted to avoid a four-game losing skid-- their longest of the season when they faced the Washington Wizards.

Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James did just enough and hacked out a 99-90 victory to clinch the playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Heat are now just 2 games back off the Indiana Pacers for the top spot in the conference.

Bradley Beal top-scored for Washington with 18 points, Martell Webster had 17 and Marcin Gortat finished with 14 points and 18 boards for the Wizards, who had won eight of their last nine games before this loss.
