The Houston Rockets are still looking to trade point guard Jeremy Lin, and the Los Angeles Lakers appear to be the latest suitor for the former Harvard hotshot, a source close to situation reported on Friday.

With the Rockets still figuring out ways to get solid compensation in exchange for disgruntled center Omer Asik, several sources indicated that Lin might be on his way out of Houston.

According to IBT Times writer Greg Price, the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers appear to be the frontrunners to get the service of the Rockets' most reliable bench player this season.

"Two teams that have been rumored for a trade and in need of a point guard are the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls, with injury riddled L.A. holding as many as 12 expiring contracts, and the Bulls figuring out their future with Derrick Rose likely sidelined for a full season once again," the International Business Times stated on Thursday.

ESPN Radio NBA analyst Alan Han also believed Lin will eventually be traded before the midseason trade deadline, especially if teams come up with a solid offer on the table.

"If they can find a taker for him and that contract ... like I said from what I heard, I've talked to some GM's from around the league, there is a strong feeling that if the Rockets can find a taker, they will definitely move Jeremy Lin, that's for sure," Hahn said during his show on ESPN Radio.

Will Lin Play For the Lakers?

Like the Bulls, the Lakers are another team that can give Lin another shot at stardom. Lin, who averaged 15 points and 4 assists this season, has been the Rockets' most consistent contributor off the bench.

However, Price believed Lin could further improve his statistical line if he's traded to the Lakers, under the tutelage of Mike D'Antoni.

Roughly three years ago, Lin came out of nowhere and began a worldwide sporting phenom after leading the then struggling Knicks from mediocrity to playoff contention with All-Stars Carmelo Anthony and Amar's Stoudemire suffering separate injuries.

D'Antoni fast-paced offense was a perfect system for Lin, who was putting up huge numbers and drawing Steve Nash comparison back then. Apparently, D'Antoni needs Lin once again, but this time, he wants the Taiwanese-American playmaker to orchestrate the Lakers offense.

For the Lakers to get Lin, GM Mitch Kupchak has to surrender veteran point guard Steve Blake and future second round picks to get the deal done.
