NBA Trade News: Memphis Grizzlies To Get Jeff Green From Boston Celtics
The Memphis Grizzlies were not contented with their big man rotation and addressed that on Friday when they acquired stretch-four Jeff Green in a trade with the Boston Celtics. No deal is finalised but reports on Friday said that the New Orleans Pelicans could be part of the deal and make it a three-team trade.
As per Marc Stein of ESPN and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the deal has already been agreed upon with Green going to the Grizzlies. and Celtics getting future picks from Memphis. However, there is a possibility that New Orleans will be part of the deal as well and according to separate reports, could be targeting guard-forward Quincy Pondexter from Memphis.

Memphis is one of the better teams in the Western Conference with a 25-11 record but want to add a scoring option in its offence which primarily features Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley. Acquiring Green means an extra offensive player that can play the small forward spot and may even slide to the power forward spot in certain match-ups. Green joins a strong wing rotation of Tony Allen, Courtney Lee and Vince Carter and will get considerable playing time with Memphis. Green averaged 17.6 point and 4.3 rebounds in 33 games for Boston in the current 2014-2015 NBA season.
