The Miami Heat are reportedly searching for much needed help, particularly in their backcourt, and Philadelphia 76ers swingman Evan Turner appears to be the next target by the two-time defending NBA champion.

Despite falling behind the Indiana Pacers in the battle for Eastern Conference supremacy this regular-season, the Heat remains a very good team with a great shot at winning it all once again in June.

Still, the Heat front office is aware that they need to have a healthy Dwyane Wade for them to repeat as champions. The All-Star shooting guard averaged 19.9 points, 4.9 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 33.6 minutes per game, though he already several games due to his bothersome problems in both knees.

With this dilemma, the Heat are now on the look for solid contributor off the bench with the ability to carry the scoring load while Wade is resting on the sideline.

ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst reported that the Heat are actively looking for a trade in an attempt to land a solid reliever for their badly-hurt star.

"With Dwyane Wade missing numerous games as he manages knee issues, the Miami Heat have recently started trade talks looking for backcourt help, multiple sources told ESPN," Windhorst stated in his article via Latino Post.

Turner To The Heat

Jon Marks of Sheridan Hoops speculated that the Heat will be Turner's destination before the midseason trade deadline. According to the NBA beat writer, Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie has been coveting first-round picks in next year's loaded NBA Draft, and the Heat have actually have the first-rounder selection that could turn into one of cornerstones of the young squad.

"Could he [Turner] join LeBron James and the Heat, in desperate need for another scoring option with Dwyane Wade's status in constant jeopardy and Chris Bosh playing in a fog,? Marks stated on Sheridan Hoops.

"Perhaps, since Miami has the one thing Hinkie values most: A potential first-round pick in the rich 2014 draft."

"The fact that it happens to be Philadelphia's own - dealt to the Heat in 2012 by his predecessor, Rod Thorn, for the rights to No. 27 pick Arnett Moultrie - is an irony that can't be ignored. Thorn did his diligence protecting his team, ensuring the pick doesn;t go to the Heat until the Sixers make the playoffs. If that doesn't happen in 2014 or 2015, the owed first-rounder converts to a pair of second-rounders."

Turner, who averaged 19.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game this season, could give the Heat a versatile scorer at the shooting guard and small forward position.
