NBC Held Morally Culpable for 'The Conrad Murray Documentary'
The Conrad Murray Documentary may have scored a higher viewer rate but it may be held against them in court.
22 days of testimony and two days of deliberation, Conrad Murray was found guilty of manslaughter to the late Michael Jackson. The prosecutors found Murray's acts to be grossly negligent. The doctor had administered an anesthetic, Propofol, to the singer to supposedly help him sleep.
However, Murray had administered a lethal dose of the drug thus lead to the death of the King of Pop. Propofol commonly used during surgery was said to be administered by the singer himself as argued by Murray's defense attorney.
Shortly after the trial NBC, said to be one of the main broadcasters, aired "The Conrad Murray Documentary" which revealed the doctor himself. Murray revealed intimate details about Michael Jackson, a few of which were not very flattering nor were it good news to the family Jackson had left behind.
The Michael Jackson Estate, disgusted with the network for airing the said documentary, said to have sent a letter of their disdain for broadcasting the "one-man" show. In the letter alongside attacks for network ethics, the MJ Estate doubt Murray was paid only $1 for his participation in the documentary.
Other loopholes the MJ estate have claimed are concerning moral issues about the documentary being filmed before the conviction of Conrad Murray simply to boost the ratings of the "struggling cable network."
Michael Jackson's fans also have something against the documentary. An activist group named "Justice 4 MJ" is being organized to boycott the documentary of Conrad Murray. "The only documentary we want to see is the one of Murray enjoying prison life," says one of the group's representative.
Conrad Murray was seen days before his court appearance at a church service. Apparently the doctors method of "praying" for a better verdict did not work. Murray is set to be sentenced on November 29 where legal experts claim he'll be spending at least a year or less than that behind bars.
As for the Conrad Murray Documentary entitled "Michael Jackson and The Doctor: A Fatal Friendship" is said to be distributed as a movie by the company Zodiak Rights.
