Cote de Pablo can come back in special NCIS Season 11 episodes as Ziva David because production is definitely not killing Ziva off the series. Meanwhile, Michael Weatherly dishes teasers on how Tony and Ziva (Tiva) will part ways.

The NCIS Season 11 premiere will tackle the departure of Cote de Pablo, who had earlier announced her decision to leave the series. Cote has played the beloved character Ziva David for eight years in the series. Many fans - and the NCIS cast - were shocked to hear the actress' decision. NCIS execs even said in interviews they had used paycheck bumps to try to make Cote stay.

Speaking to Matt Webb Mitovich of TV Line, Michael Weatherly reveals the NCIS 11 premiere will not be predictable. He also hints that Ziva leaving will be creatively presented.

"I can't give away all the pinpoints," Wetherly teases the NCIS fans, "but I found the first two episodes immensely satisfying. I was very surprised by the things I read in those scripts." Responding to questions on Tony's future post-Ziva, the actor says, "I'm looking forward to seeing what the far greater geniuses have in store."

In an earlier separate interview, NCIS executive producer Gary Glasberg hinted Cote Pablo can come back to the show and reprise her Ziva role. He emphasizes death is "not what this character deserves." Glasberg also said Tony and Ziva will "have the time they deserved" when Season 11 kicks off.

For the worried Tiva fans, Glasberg said Tony will probably not be involved with anyone so soon after Ziva's departure.
