'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 episode 18 spoilers: Hacker couple gets tracked down in couple’s retreat; Eric and Nell go undercover in ‘Getaway’

Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) and Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith) will go undercover on the next episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” as they try to track down a pair of vicious hackers. The pair will be placed in a rather uncomfortable situation when they are tasked to pretend being husband and wife.

In the previous episode, the team went to Arizona to get Ahmed Asakeem (Sammy Sheik) and bring him to LA. Asakeem is a familiar character from the earlier episodes because he was one of the key reasons why Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) got seriously injured and went into a coma during a mission in Syria. Everyone thought that Kensi would turn vengeful as she confronted the man who almost cost her her life, but such was not the case.

On the same episode, fans also discovered that someone had been tailing Asakeem’s whereabouts. This could mean a bigger evil coming in the future.

The official synopsis for " Getaway" reveals that just after the US Treasury Department gets hacked, Eric and Nell are tasked to go undercover as a couple in retreat. This is to track down a tech expert husband and his wife who are linked to the crime. Meanwhile, a digital f orensics specialist Dave Flynn (Scott Grimes) will arrive from the NCIS cyber office in San Diego to run operations while Nell and Eric are out on their assigned case.

The given preview might make fans ask where the rest of the team would be on this episode. While the teaser does not offer details about the other members, it seems that the show is finally giving this pair its own spotlight.

Viewers are normally used to a Kensi and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) team-up when it comes to undercover missions . However, the nature of this case falls within Eric and Nell’s turf.

The official YouTube promo shows Callen (Chris O’Donnell) assuring them that everything will be all right. While this may be the case, Kensi and Deeks will mess with them just a little bit. Eric and Nell will have to reconnect with nature and with each other. Deeks tries to scare them by saying that the location could be a perfect setting for a horror movie.

The promo also shows that Nell and Eric will have to share just one bed and one room for the mission. This could be quite uncomfortable, but it remains to be seen how the two will deal with the situation. Of course, they have to always remember that they are on an undercover mission so they cannot break character and would have to act like a true couple. Eric and Nell shippers will certainly look forward to this episode.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” airs every Sunday at 8:00 p.m. on CBS in the US. It also airs every Tuesday at 10:15 on TEN Channel in Australia.
