Season 8 was very extensive and explosive for “NCIS: Los Angeles,” both in terms of the missions covered and for the lives of everyone’s favourite law enforcers. In the season 8 finale of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Kensi (Daniela Ruah) proposed to Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), who had actually popped the big question several times in the past but never got a yes. This was spurred after she saw Sam (LL Cool J) lose the love of his life. She realised how short life really is and that they should not delay things further.
With no wedding ring available at that point, Kensi used the pin of a grenade as a makeshift ring. Of course, Deeks grumbled about how it should be him getting down on one knee and proposing, but he said “yes” anyway.
Now that they are engaged, fans know that they will finally get to see these two tie the knot when season 9 airs. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it looks like that is where the show is headed. As for Sam, he will be a completely different character. Now without a wife and with children who are set to board military school, he will be alone again.
While this might mean that things are set to be tougher for Sam, it looks like he has no plans of softening up or backing down from the challenges that are coming his way. Sam has shown that the recent tragedy did not cloud how he uses his head on how to approach a tough situation.
Speaking to CBS, LL Cool J said that he definitely is invested in the role. “With the help of the writers obviously, we have transformed this guy into a really special character that I think has the potential to be one of the iconic characters in America 20 to 30 years from now when people look back,” the rapper-turned-actor said. He added that he admires his character for having a firm set of values and principle s. Indeed, there is a lot for Sam to look forward too. Fans hope that he ends up being Hetty’s (Linda Hunt) lieutenant when “NCIS: Los Angeles” returns for season 9.
“NCIS Los Angeles” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on CBS. It also airs every Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. on the TEN Channel in Australia.
