The 10th episode of “NCIS New Orleans” Season 2, titled “Billy and the Kid,” was aired on CBS on Tuesday. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service ("NCIS”) team that includes Special Agent-in-Charge Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula), Special Agent and Senior Field Agent Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black) and Special Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody (Zoe McLellan), investigates the murder of a Marine, which is linked to a past murder case. This brings back memories of Pride and LaSalle's first investigation together.

The “Billy and the Kid” episode takes us back to August 2005 and the city is under the threat of being struck by Hurricane Katrina. Sheriff's Detective LaSalle finds out about a man named Phil Hart (Kenneth Brown Jr.) who was shot and then died after giving a description of his killer. Hart said that the perpetrator had a shapeless blue tattoo.

After the flashback to 2005, it’s the present time again in New Orleans. The "NCIS" team is shown investigating the murder of a Marine officer at a diner. Percy (Shalita Grant) and LaSalle come across a witness named Oliver Fray (Christopher Berry). Fray claims that the person who shot the Marine had a blue tattoo. La Salle then compares the similarities between the present case and the 10-year-old case. He discovers that the blue tattoo and a 12 gauge shotgun were present in both cases.

Loretta (CCH Pounder) points out a shiny residue and sends a sample of it to Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich). Sebastian thinks that the residue appears to be oil based. LaSalle tells them that they found something like that on the Marine, too.

While investigating the case, LaSalle gets flashbacks and later comes across Pride, who was looking for an armed robber. The “NCIS New Orleans” team eventually discovers that the stolen Navy money involved in the case was misplaced. They learn that Hart's widow has the money. Unfortunately, the armed robber named Ed Taggot (Bowie Hamilton), wants it back.

The criminal investigative team reached Hart’s widow just in time to rescue her from Taggot. LaSalle shoots Taggot, closing both murder cases simultaneously. After the action-packed murder mystery, The “NCIS New Orleans” team heaved a sigh of relief and celebrated Thanksgiving at Pride's bar.
