The sixth episode of “NCIS New Orleans” Season 2 was aired on CBS on Tuesday. The episode, titled “Insane in the Membrane,” saw the NCIS team, comprising NCIS Agent-in-Charge Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula), NCIS Special Agent and Senior Field Agent Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black) and NCIS Special Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody (Zoe McLellan), participate in the city’s annual “Red Dress Run.” [Spoilers Alert!]

The “Red Dress Run” is an annual charitable event in New Orleans in which people take part in a marathon run in a red dress. This year’s event was disrupted due to the sudden demise of Petty Officer Kelsey Weaver under mysterious circumstances. The NCIS team discovers that the officer was last seen on the streets in a panic-stricken condition and was screaming about a mystery man who, according to Weaver, was following her.

To know more about Weaver’s last moments, Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) analysed the footage from the “Red Dress Run” and found that Weaver was not being followed and that the stalker was only a part of her imagination. Percy proves that Weaver was showing the effects of a new drug named Flakka. Pride and his team come to know that the drug was being used widely in New Orleans and had caused three deaths.

The NCIS team now aims to find out the Flakka distributor who might have possibly sold the drug to Weaver. They come to know about drug distributor Anthony as well as drug dealer Liu (Nelson Lee). Liu is a part of the group that supplies drugs to the dealers.

Another important clue that the NCIS team gets is that Councilman Douglas Hamilton (Steven Weber) was in contact with Liu. Hamilton told Pride that based on his knowledge, Liu was a wealthy businessman; thus, he aimed to get donations from Liu.

With the help of Kendrick, a known drug dealer, the NCIS team was able to find Liu. They discovered that Liu was given financial aid by Hamilton’s mayoral opponent, Mr. Singh. The main motive of Singh was to create a drug wave in New Orleans to ruin Hamilton’s chances in the Mayoral elections.
