The upcoming episode of "NCIS: New Orleans” will be titled "Overdrive.” Its storyline will focus on a case involving an amateur race car driver.

This upcoming episode will show a different side of the NCIS team. The synopsis reveals that a Marine corporal has died while taking a spin in his race car. Many believed that the said mishap was an accidental death since he was new to the sport. However, the NCIS team believes there is foul play involved. They will be doing an investigation on who might have the motive to kill the corporal.

Promotional photos have been released. They show Scott Bakula and others who are on the racetrack. Dr. Wade can also be seen examining the corpse while Sebastian and Percy are searching the place for evidence.

In the last episode, viewers saw the heartbreaking story of a young man who lost his beloved aunt. The officer was found murdered in the home she shared with the boy. He was the only witness in the case. The NCIS had difficulty getting answers from him. The kid was traumatised and he could only communicate through his music. He was dubbed by his teacher as a musical prodigy.

Fans have been questioning the status of Meredith Brooks. Her character has been missing in action since the premiere of Season 3 of “NCIS: New Orleans.” It is reported that the departure of Zoe McLellan and Meredith Brooks are the root cause of the decline in the ratings. According to Zoe McLellan, the reason why she left the show was based on a creative decision. But other than that, no official reason was given both from the actress and the producers of the show.

A report from Movie News Guide states that there is a chance for Meredith Brooks and Zoe McLellan to return. The report reveals that since the fans of “NCIS: New Orleans” think that the sudden departure of Meredith Brooks is the cause of the decline of “NCIS: New Orleans,” then bringing her back might help turn the show's fortune around. The source also states that with the return of Meredith Brooks and Zoe McLellan, the show could avoid getting cancelled.

"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 episode 9 will air Tuesdays at 10PM in the US and 10:30PM Tuesdays in Australia.
