'NCIS' Season 11, Episode 8, 'Alibi' Review; Ellie Bishop 'Replaces' Cote de Pablo's Ziva David in Nov. 19 Episode [Sneak Preview VIDEO]
"NCIS" Season 11, Episode 8, "Alibi" guest stars Salli Richardson-Whitfield as Carrie Clark, legal counsel for the suspect. This is perhaps the last time in the current season for a strong female presence to come from a guest actress. Ellie Bishop is coming as Emily Wickersham debuts on the show next week. Cote de Pablo's Ziva David is officially being replaced, as far as many NCIS viewers are concerned.
Spoiler alert: This review recaps the highlights of "Alibi," Episode 8 of NCIS Season 11. Read at your own risk.
Things have yet to go back to normal for Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly). For one, he's been taking the public transport. More, a reverend has dropped him off to a crime scene. DiNozzo has been actively seeking support albeit from "strangers." He is still dealing with how things ended between him and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo).
McGee, Delilah, and Abby: NCIS Triangle in the Absence of Tiva 'Will They, Won't They'
A lot of Tiva (Tony and Ziva) shippers are still sad over Cote's decision to leave NCIS. Many viewers drew much fun from the "will they, won't they" dance between the characters portrayed by Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo. But the showrunners have been saying that they are going to remind the viewers why they are still watching NCIS.
Mike Franks (Muse Watson) and Jackson Gibbs (Ralph Waite) are two of the very special NCIS characters that were shown this year since Ziva's departure. Next week, Emily Wickersham arrives as NSA analyst Ellie Bishop. She is likely to take over Ziva's desk.
Meanwhile, romance between Tim McGee (Sean Murray) and Delilah (Margo Harshman) is getting stronger. But McGee is changing, too. The previous episode - NCIS Season 11, Episode 7, "Better Angels" - established that Abby (Pauley Perrette) has already warmed up to Delilah. Any love triangle is being downplayed. But many fans are betting love and hope are not lost between McGee and Abby.
Still a Question: Why did Cote de Pablo leave NCIS?
NCIS Season 11 is airing its 9th episode on Nov. 19. Ellie Bishop's debut episode is called, "Gut Check." Six episodes have gone without Ziva David. No one took over her desk. Delilah sat there for a while and even kid Tony she's joining the team. But the real replacement is coming.
Still reporters are not done asking the cast, "Why did Cote de Pablo leave NCIS?" Michael Weatherly and Pauley Perette share their different answers.
Weatherly told The Star, Cote is still figuring out "the life part" of her story. In the same report, Pauley hinted she does not understand Cote's decision, but it may be "a life decision."
NCIS Season 11 Spoiler: Who is Ziva David's replacement?
Ellie Bishop, NSA analyst, is married, says the NCIS spoilers in entertainment reports. She's not replacing the Ziva David character, but adding a new flavour to Gibbs' team. Like Ziva, however, she will look at Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) as her mentor. Check out the NCIS 11x09 sneak preview and spoiler in the video below.
VIDEO: NCIS Season 11 Spoilers Reveal the Entry of Ziva David's Replacement
NCIS Season 11, Episode 8, Alibi is not among the most exciting episodes of the CBS series. But it does expose the characters further in terms of post-Ziva developments. Tony DiNozzo appears to be the only one dealing with Ziva's departure. But that may change in the next episode.
