NCIS Season 12 Spoilers: Cote de Pablo's Ziva David Still Hoped to Return, Gibb's Second Wife Story Explored

"NCIS" Season 12 premieres later in the year. Fans of Cote de Pablo and her character Special Agent Ziva David remain hopeful for a Ziva story. On top of the spoilers, however, is related to Mark Harmon's Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

For pulling in over 57 million viewers worldwide, NCIS recently won the International Television Audience Award for a Drama TV Series at the 54th Monte-Carlo Television Festival. NCIS Season 12 premieres with this recognition. It would be natural for many fans to expect their demands would count, and many of them are demanding the return of Ziva David.

"Thanks to our worldwide audience for helping us start the new season off right," NCIS lead actor and producer Mark Harmon says in a joint statement with showrunner Gary Glasberg.

There seems to be no official indication that Cote de Pablo would return to the NCIS family on CBS. However, it is enough for many fans that Ziva remains alive. Reports also suggest that Glasberg himself is open to having Ziva reconnect with Tony. However, Glasberg did not specify a special appearance by Cote in NCIS Season 12.

Little is known about NCIS Season 12, but reports are pointing out that Glasberg and crew are finally ready to cast Gibbs' second redhead wife. (This is Gibbs' third legal wife counting Shannon, the love of his life.)

Gibbs' wife after Diane may show up to grieve with Leroy, who lost his father Jackson Gibbs (the late Ralph Waite) in the NCIS Season 11 finale.

It remains to be seen whether a new supervillain will be introduced in NCIS Season 12.

Meanwhile, Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony DiNozzo, has recently signed a new 2-year contract with the series. Fans can be sure that half of their Tiva ship stays on the series.

NCIS Season 12 excites many fans, but actress Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto, is just as excited as her Twitter status reads.

Ziva David appears only in one episode of NCIS Season 11 (Episode 2). Still, fans are relentless in their call to have the character back on the show.

On IMDB.com, "The 33," the Chilean film that stars Cote de Pablo, is already in post-production. Cote may have some time to film NCIS Season 12 if things work out for Cote, as well as Harmon, Glasberg and the powers that be.
