“NCIS” Season 12 Episode 17 airs Mar. 10 on CBS. There is no new episode this week, but some details on 12x17 are out for the fans. CIA will be involved, and some kind of art thief will pull the elder DiNozzo closer into NCIS operations.

“DiNozzo Sr. helps the team with a murder case that involves a rare painting being stolen and replaced with a fake,” reads the “NCIS” Season 12 Episode 17 synopsis on TV.com. It continues, “He shares his knowledge of and contacts in the black market art world with the team.”

The previous two episodes of “NCIS” Season 12 centre on Gibbs (Mark Harmon)—the end of big villain Sergei Michnev, as well as the non-techie boss’ undercover work as computer technician. The next new episode shines the spotlight back to DiNozzo Jr (Michael Weatherly) and his dad (Robert Wagner).

Patricia De Leon is listed in the CBS release as a guest star, portraying Gloria Hernandez. Also in the list of guest stars is Christopher B. Duncan, playing the role of CIA Officer Dale Harris. “NCIS” Season 12 Episode 17, based on the synopsis, may come in with some tones from USA’s “White Collar.”

Meanwhile, “NCIS” Season 12 showrunner Gary Glasberg told TVLine he has plans to “rattle people a little bit” in the upcoming season finale. He also teased the return of Delilah (Margo Harshman), who is currently in a long distance romance with McGee (Sean Murray).

It remains to be seen whether DiNozzo Sr would meet his son’s current girlfriend, ATF Agent Zoë Keates (Marisol Nichols). The CBS release for NCIS 12x17 does not include Nichols’ name in the list of guest stars.

Considering “NCIS” history, Season 12 may have only eight episodes left to air, including Episode 17. So far, the biggest shockers include the death of Diane Sterling (Melinda McGraw) in the same episode where Jeri Ryan debuts as ex-wife no. 2, Rebecca.

“NCIS” airs Tuesdays on CBS.
