‘NCIS’ Season 12 Update: Gibbs Bonds With DiNozzo Sr In New Episode, Zoe Keates Still Around (Spoilers)
“NCIS” Season 12 aired “No Good Deed” on Tuesday, April 7, on CBS. Episode 20, this week’s new episode, Gibbs bonds with DiNozzo Sr. when the latter crashes into his home. Meanwhile, Tony’s girlfriend Zoe Keates gets to work with NCIS on a case involving her mentor.

Episode 20 of “NCIS” Season 12 tackles the case of a marine who died after trying to save a young woman. To recap: Evidence leads the team to someone Keates respects. Tony tells Gibbs to send McGee to MTAC, so he wouldn’t have to work so closely with Keates.
As the case of the week develops, Tony gets distracted by his old issues with DiNozzo Sr. The old man wants to stay in D.C. with him; he wants his space and freedom. DiNozzo Sr. later finds solace in Gibbs’ home. Gibbs tells Tony’s father that he wished his own old man, Jackson Gibbs, had stayed with him in his final years.
Episode 20 of “NCIS” Season 12 gives Gibbs the chance to talk about his father again. He does not admonish Tony, but he pushes him to talk out his issues with his father. Tony opens up further, saying he feels his relationship with Zoe Keates has gone past the honeymoon stage. Zoe hears this over the radio that Tony failed to mute.
In the end, the bad guy gets caught. Zoe tells Tony she wants to make their relationship work, and he says the feeling is mutual. DiNozzo Sr decides to give his son as much space as possible. “NCIS” Season 12 concludes another DiNozzo special.
Episode 21, the next new “NCIS” episode, is titled “Lost in Translation.” Ellie Bishop takes the spotlight as she joins Gibbs on a mission to Afghanistan. In the side story, McGee becomes “the new face of NCIS,” according to the CBS episode synopsis.
“NCIS” Season 12 stars Mark Harmon (Gibbs), Michael Weatherly (Tony) and Sean Murray (McGee), among others. Robert Wagner and Marisol Nichols are recurring guest stars, portraying the roles of DiNozzo Sr. and Keates, respectively. The late Ralph Waite played Jackson Gibbs.
