TV Guide reports that on Tuesday’s episode, the NCIS crew encounters an unusual setting when they delve into the murder of a deep sea diver. As the team tries to unravel the mystery behind the victim’s death, suspected coworkers must stay in a high-tech decompression chamber with the dead diver’s body for four days. The team, on the other hand, is left with no choice but to investigate from the outside of the tank.
“NCIS” also posted a couple of sneak peeks of its Feb. 9 episode on its YouTube page. The first teaser shows Abby secretly putting little Valentine’s Day treats on everyone’s desks. Unknown to her, she’s being watched by DiNozzo and McGee, who make fun of her annual tradition during the “world’s most commercial holiday.”
The second preview video reveals the team’s challenge in this particular investigation. They find out that the scene of the crime is a decompression chamber, and opening it would kill them instantly. Gibbs and Dr Mallard also discover that it would take four days to decompress the chamber, which means they can’t perform an autopsy on the dead body.
Dr Mallard points out that the process of decompression will alter the victim’s body chemistry. “In four days, any evidence that could tell us how he died will be erased forever.”
“NCIS” spoilers indicate that to resolve their predicament, the team will perform a remote autopsy. This news is not accepted well by the dead diver’s coworkers, who insist that they are divers, not doctors. Meanwhile, Abby believes that one of the three divers killed the victim. The case frustrates Gibbs, who cannot believe the team is having a hard time with the investigation despite having only three suspects locked into a little metal tube.
The Feb. 9 episode of “NCIS” is directed by Thomas J. Wright, according to IMDB. Guest stars on “Decompressed” include Maya Stojan (Meredith Ragen), Greg Sereno (Jalen Washington), Henderson Wade (Sam Harper), Tim Conlon (Jerry Grossman), Brett Rice (Captain RJ Hammond), Aaron Hendry (Bob Mugford), Keston John (Mark Domínquez), John DeMita (Navy Admiral Jorge Morales), Dahlia Salem (Maria de la Rosa), Matthew Brenher (Mattias Groller) and David Paladino (Ret. Navy Sr Chief P.O. Diego de la Rosa).
