'NCIS' Season 13 episode 20 spoilers: ‘Charade’ centres on Tony DiNozzo as he falls victim to identity theft

“NCIS” returns with a brand new episode on Tuesday, with the team encountering a timely challenge: a case of stolen identity. Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), who is nearing his last appearance on the highly popular series, will be the focus of the crime. His credentials as a Special Agent will be stolen and will be used by multiple perpetrators to conduct their evil deeds. Spoilers indicate that the team races against the clock to stop the criminals from damaging the reputation and credibility of “NCIS.”

“All My Children” star Adam Mayfield and “Hart of Dixie” actor Ben Giroux have both signed up as guest stars for the April 5 run, to play as DiNozzo’s impostors. They join other “NCIS” cast members who will appear on the episode including Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen). Also appearing on the “NCIS” Season 13 episode 20 are Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll), Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) and Dr Donald Mallard (David McCallum).

TV Guide reports that on Tuesday’s episode, the “NCIS” team faces another difficult challenge, when several criminals steal Tony DiNozzo's identity, and begin blackmailing senators.

“NCIS” also posted sneak peeks of its April 5 episode on its YouTube page . In one preview video, DiNozzo opens up to McGee and Bishop about USD20,000 (AUD26,400) that seems to be stolen by him. A moment later, Gibbs rushes to DiNozzo and tells them that an agent died in a car crash. When DiNozzo asks who the victim was, Gibbs says, “You did.”

Another teaser picks up from the previous video then shows that the phony Tonys are running around the city causing chaos. On the last scene, the real Tony DiNozzo is apprehended for impersonating a federal agent.

In another trailer, Gibbs confronts a clueless DiNozzo about the money which was given by a US senator. McGee and Bishop brief the team about the phony Tony who died in the car crash, named Scott Myers. He was reported to pretend he was an NCIS agent and extorted Senator Bransfield for cash. While the team wonders about the subject of the blackmail, Vance appears and tells them that the senator is on his way to meet with them.

The Internet Movie Database, or IMDb, reports that Virginia Williams (Leah Ramsey), Matt McCoy (Senator Thomas Bransfield), Jonathan Kells Phillips (Senator Shawn Kelly), Sharon Brathwaite (Lisa Marsden), Brad Lee Wind (Metro PD Sgt. John Dunn) and Daniel Cummings (Hicks) will also appear on “NCIS” Season 13 episode 20. “Charade” is directed by Edward Ornelas and written by Brendan Fehily.
