'NCIS' Season 13, Episode 9 spoilers: 'A Day In Court'
On this week’s episode of "NCIS," the team will be tasked to get to the bottom of an anomaly in a murder investigation. Meanwhile, on a personal level, Ellie Bishop’s (Emily Wickersham) and her marriage to Jake (Jamie Bamber) will continue to hit speed bumps. [Spoiler Alert!]
According to the synopsis shared by TV.com, episode 9 is titled “A Day in Court.” In the episode, the team is back in headquarters after dealing with some issues in South Sudan. They tackle a problem closer to home, when “a petty officer tries to clear his name after his murder case is dismissed due to mishandled evidence.”
Apparently, the said officer will volunteer to be court-martialed, in the hopes that the NCIS team can look into the case. He thinks that this move will prove that he did his job properly and that he is not responsible for the mishandled evidence.
In the episode trailer, the officer is seen submitting himself to the NCIS team to be taken under arrest. They are all surprised but investigate anyway. In one scene, Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is seen interrogating the arrested officer. [Scroll down for video]
The trailer promises a big twist in the storyline before cutting away to a shot of Ellie Bishop. “NCIS” showrunner Gary Glasberg has previously revealed that things will continue to swirl down the drain for Bishop and her husband.
The previous episode hinted the couple's problems as Bishop was shown having a tense moment with her husband on the phone. Things will get worse, and the events in the upcoming episode will lead to her decision to return to Oklahoma for the Thanksgiving holidays.
Later this month, Gibbs will be tagging along as Bishop returns to her hometown. Meanwhile, Gibbs will continue to work hard and push himself, despite being under recovery from the shooting he went through in the opening of the season.
"NCIS" airs Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on CBS. Watch the episode 9 trailer below:
