'NCIS' Season 14 episode 5 spoilers: Duane Henry returns; Quinn’s painful past comes back to haunt her in ‘Philly’
An intriguing and emotional episode awaits “NCIS” fans on Tuesday. The Season 14 Episode 5 installment on Tuesday, titled “Philly,” shows Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) sends his team to Philadelphia to work on a murder investigation with MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry).
Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Alexandra “Alex” Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) travel all the way there in an attempt to pin down the killer. In addition to the case, Quinn also has to deal with some drama, when she’s taken back to a painful situation that made her leave field work. Former NFL Player and Studio Analyst for “The NFL Today,” Tony Gonzalez, has signed up as guest star on the upcoming run as Special Agent Tony Francis.
Other “NCIS” cast members who will also be featured on the Oct. 18 episode include Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), Nicholas "Nick" Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll), Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) and Dr Donald Mallard (David McCallum).

TV Guide reports that on Tuesday’s installment, the team delves into the case of a missing MI6 agent, who’s suspected to be involved in the murder of a petty officer. The two heads off to Philadelphia and works together with MI6 officer Reeves. Amid the investigation, Quinn becomes emotional when she remembers the NCIS case that was the reason why she left field work.
CBS posted sneak peeks of “NCIS” Season 14 Episode 5. Based on the promo video, it seems that someone close to Quinn died during a case, which prompts her to take up a desk job. Quinn, who appears to be in a state, tells Gibbs, “You don’t know anything until you walk in my shoes.”
In another trailer, Torres grills Quinn about a man from her past. She encourages Bishop to go for the guy, but the latter says she’s not looking to settle down. Torres refuses to believe this, saying that “All women are looking to settle down.” When the two women seem ready to pounce on him, Torres turns to McGee for support. McGee, on the other hand, backs away. Gibbs arrives and advises him, “Don’t say anything. You can thank me later.”
Reeves figures in the last teaser, as he provides Bishop and Quinn information about the case. Apparently, the missing MI6 officer was investigating Russian rocket launchers being smuggled into the US. They then take a call from the other team members in DC, who tell them that the victim’s identity. Bishop and Quinn are ordered to talk to his family in Upper Darby. Upon hearing the location, Quinn seems bothered but refuses to divulge why.
“Philly” is directed by Allan Arkush and written by Scott Williams. Spoiler TV reports that “NCIS” Season 14 Episode 5 also features guest stars Henry Wells Nixon (M16 Intel Officer Mason Finley), Dennis Apergis (Ivan Ahmeti), Lou DiMaggio (Nestor Carbone), Dalila Ali Rajah (Connie Falco), Glenn Keogh (Thompson Daly), Michael Felix (Navy Petty Officer Third Class Gary Falco) and Stephanie Y. Wang (Port Authority Lieutenant Emily Shaw).
