Who knew the pop star's voice can create anything but pleasant melodies. However, that is not the case with a 26-year-old mother who claims she suffers seizures whenever she hears Ne-Yo's songs or even just the singer's voice for that matter.

Zoe Fennessy from Retford, Nottinghamshire has been clinically diagnosed with "musicogenic seizures," which are triggered every time she hears Ne-Yo's voice. Metro claims the 26-year-old would suffer terrible epileptic seizures mere seconds after hearing any of the artist's songs. Vomiting, freezing and the inability to interact with her surroundings are among the debilitating effects of the attacks.

The incapacitating illness had reportedly made Fennessy miss her work as a healthcare assistant for six months. However, she assures her seizures are triggered not because she dislikes Ne-Yo's music. Apparently, it's the other way around.

Per Daily Mail the young mother had to wear her earphones on to listen to her own music every time she shops just in case the pop star's music is being played. Fennessy claims she would drop everything she's doing and run outside at the instance she hears the first few beats from Ne-Yo's songs.

"People might think it is funny -- and I can laugh at it myself -- but it has taken over my life. It's ruined my life," she said.

According to Daily Mail, her first Ne-Yo induced seizures happened in May 2011 when she heard his first hit song "Give Me Everything." It took some time for her to realize that her attacks were actually triggered by the artist's songs. However, up until the 15th time she heard the music did she finally realise the effect it had on her.

Zoe Fennessy wants nothing more than to be rid of her illness especially since Ne-Yo is a famous artist and his songs are likely to be played everywhere. So Zoe was subjected to a listening test of the artist's many songs. The results had doctors believed the seizures are particularly coming from her left temporal lobe. Thus last June this year, Daily Mail claims that the mother had a major brain operation to remove a huge part of her left temporal lobe.

The six-hour long operation was believed to have been successful in reducing the symptoms of her epilepsy. However, Zoe Fennessy still experiences seizures every time she hears Ne-Yo's voice.
